Supported File Types
You can upload any file type, and you can always download the original file in its original quality. For the formats listed below, Framebird also creates a preview, so you and your clients can view the file in the browser without downloading it first. Types that aren't listed still upload and download, but they appear without a preview.
- Upload: works for every file type. The maximum size per file depends on your plan.
- Preview: the image, streamed video, audio player, or document view that Framebird shows in Galleries and Shares.
- Original download: the unchanged file you uploaded. In a Share, you decide whether visitors can download.
- Annotation: a drawing on an image or a paused video frame, available on Pro and Premium. See Annotations.

RAW Camera Types
RAW files upload and download unchanged. Framebird creates a preview from each supported RAW file, so clients can review it in the browser without RAW software.

Previews for Hasselblad FFF and Leaf MOS files aren't supported yet, so these files may appear without a preview. They still upload and download in original quality.

Video and Audio Types
Videos get a thumbnail and a streamed preview that plays in the browser. You can pause a video and annotate that frame, and comments on video and audio can be pinned to a timestamp. See Timestamped Comments.

The audio player plays the original file, so playback depends on your browser. MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A, and FLAC play in current browsers; support for OGG and Opus varies. Other audio formats, such as AIFF or WMA, upload and download but may not play in every browser. MXF camera files upload and download in original quality, but they don't get a video preview.
