Drag in your JPG files
Click the dotted area to choose your JPG files, or drag and drop them there.
Adjust Compression
Adjust output quality if needed. The default is 90%. Lower quality can reduce detail in JPG, WebP and AVIF images. For PNG, this setting changes compression effort without removing image detail.
Download compressed files
Click the 'Download' button to download your converted files. If you converted a folder or multiple files, you will be able to download the entire folder as a zip file.
Need smaller JPG files for delivery or your website? Framebird compresses them right in your browser, without sending the selected image to Framebird servers, and you need no account. Choose a quality setting, then compare the output size and adjust until it looks right. JPEG compression may lose detail, and a smaller file is not guaranteed for every image, so keep your original.
What is the JPG file type?
JPEG files compress digital images while maintaining good visual quality, making them perfect for photos and complex graphics. The format reduces file size by removing unnecessary image data that human eyes can't easily detect. While JPEGs work well for photographs and realistic images with many colors, they may show visible quality loss when heavily compressed or used for text and simple graphics.
How does the compression work?
Framebird compresses JPEG images in your browser using the mozjpeg encoder. You choose the balance with the quality setting: lower values make smaller files with less detail, while higher values keep more detail in a larger file. Check the result to find the setting that suits your image.
Faster web pages and apps
Smaller image files take up less storage space and use less data when they are sent or downloaded, which can help pages load faster. How much you save depends on the image and the settings you choose. Lossy compression can add visible artifacts, so compare the downloaded result with the original before using it.
Image files scrubbed clean
When Framebird converts or compresses an image, it builds a new file from the decoded pixels and does not copy the source metadata. This can remove camera details and GPS tags, but it does not guarantee that all identifying information is gone. What the image shows can still identify people or places. Keep the original if its metadata matters.
